EXPRESS Networking Services allows UNIX users to take full advantage ofthe client-server capabilities available on TCP/IP Local Area Networks.With Networking Services, a single machine on the LAN can act as agateway to one or more IBM hosts, yet every user on the LAN can obtainaccess to the host.EXPRESS Networking Services provides true distributed processing forEXPRESS 3270 and EXPRESS SNA/RJE. Is is installed with the EXPRESS SNA orBSC Communications Server software, enabling one system (server) toprovide communications services for other workstations or multi-usersystems on the LAN. These other systems (clients) can execute localcopies of 3270, HLLAPI user programs, and SNA/RJE. Servers can be eitherUNIX 386/486 or RISC System/6 or RISC ULTRIX computers. Clients can bean assortment of UNIX 386/486, RISC System/6, RISC ULTRIX, Sun,Hewlett-Packard, NCR, Windows, DOS, or Macintosh.
